About PA Lottery Generator

Why We Built This

The idea behind PA Lottery Generator comes down to two things: human psychology and machine trust.

When people pick lottery numbers by hand, they almost never pick truly at random, even when they think they do. Certain numbers feel lucky, familiar, or significant. Others carry a negative association, feel too obvious, or just look wrong on the page. Whether those preferences are conscious or buried in the back of your mind, they introduce bias. The numbers you end up with reflect your psychology as much as chance, which means they're not really random at all.

The other half of it is the lottery machine itself. The quick-pick process at a retail terminal is a black box. You hand over your money, a strip of numbers prints out, and you have no visibility into how they were generated or whether the process is genuinely unbiased. That lack of transparency is worth being skeptical about.

The first version was a command-line tool built for personal use, a quick script that solved the problem for one player. Once it was clear others could benefit from the same idea, it became this: a full web app that anyone can use without installing anything or handing over an email address.

The generator runs entirely in your browser using cryptographically strong randomness, with no hidden logic and no human thumb on the scale. Your picks are produced by the same random functions your browser uses for security-sensitive operations; not a gut feeling, not an opaque machine, just clean math you can verify for yourself.

It is completely free and requires no account to use the generator.

Supported Games

The generator covers all eleven Pennsylvania Lottery draw games currently available, organized by type:

Jackpot & Multi-State Games

  • Powerball
  • Mega Millions
  • Cash4Life

PA Daily Draw Games

  • Cash 5
  • Match 6 Lotto
  • Treasure Hunt
  • Cash Pop

PA Pick Games

  • Pick 2
  • Pick 3
  • Pick 4
  • Pick 5

Each game uses a dedicated ruleset that defines the number pool, any special ball ranges, draw count limits, and how results are formatted on screen. Rulesets are reviewed and updated whenever the Pennsylvania Lottery modifies a game's structure. The current ruleset version is sourced directly from official Pennsylvania Lottery game pages.

How Random Generation Works

Every time you request picks, the site creates a cryptographically random seed using your browser's built-in crypto.randomUUID() function, the same source browsers use for security-sensitive operations such as generating encryption keys. That seed is then fed into a fast deterministic number generator to produce your results quickly and consistently.

Numbers are drawn without replacement from the correct pool for each game, ensuring no duplicate values appear within a single row of picks. For jackpot-style games, the special ball (Powerball, Mega Ball, or Cash Ball) is drawn independently from its own separate pool. For Pick games, each digit position is drawn independently so repeats are allowed, which is the correct behavior for those games.

The entire process happens locally in your browser. Nothing is sent to a server, and no results are logged or stored anywhere. The process is also completely stateless; closing the tab, refreshing the page, or generating a new set of picks starts fresh from a new random seed with no memory of previous results.

Privacy & Data

PA Lottery Generator does not collect, store, or transmit the numbers you generate. Your picks exist only in your active browser session. The site also uses Google Analytics and Google AdSense, which may process technical and usage information such as page views, browser details, approximate location, ad interactions, and cookie data.

The winner submission form on the homepage is the only place the site accepts input from users. Submissions are reviewed before being published, participation is entirely optional, and only a first name and city are collected; no contact information.

Cookies and similar technologies may be used for analytics, advertising, fraud prevention, and performance measurement. Advertising is served through Google AdSense, which may show personalized or non-personalized ads depending on region, consent state, and browser settings. See the Privacy Policy for more detail.
